Road Trip! - Day 1

Having a little time off after new years, we took our first official family road trip. The destination was beautiful Sunny Southern California, which didn't turn out all that sunny (more on that later).



Day 1 started with a drive through Carmel and a fantastic lunch with friends. We got the rest stop we needed before taking on the windy cliffs of the California central coast.


After the incredible terrain gave way to flat rolling hills, we arrived at Hearst castle for a tour of the building. It was a first time for me despite living here my whole life. I'm sorry I didn't see it sooner and I really enjoyed the visit.


We ended the evening in Cambria, a wonderful little spot to relax away an evening and morning after a long day on the dusty trail.
